English for Children Stockhom teaches children English in a fun and educational manner. It is a place for your child to explore the world of English through songs, games and stories. Our goal is to spark an interest, build confidence and motivate young learners to speak, read and write in English. Not only are we teaching your children English, but we are teaching them that it is exciting to learn another language. It is a gift that can be kept for a lifetime if used wisely!
Research has shown that multilingual children possess good math skills, higher than average problem-solving skills, are more socially adaptable, good story-tellers and show a higher respect for other cultures regardless of the the language being learned. Not to mention the fact, as adults, they will have a wider selection of foreign job and study opportunities. The list is long and far outweighs the disadvantages of not learning a foreign language. According to Andrea Michelli, a neuroscientist at University College London, "It is better to learn early rather than late because the brain is more capable of adjusting or accommodating new languages by changing structurally. This ability decreases with time". By giving your children an early start to foreign languages also means that you are taking advantage of a brain that is still in the growth and developmental stages, a prime time for retaining learned language!
